During project completion, unfinished activity work may generate transactions related to a Purchase Order Line Part, often accompanied by the information message: “There are rental transactions which have not been invoiced.”
This issue typically arises due to rental invoices created by the plant department for customers that remain unposted. As a result, the system flags pending transactions, preventing the project from being marked as complete.
To address this issue, follow the steps outlined in the manual to check and resolve unposted rental transactions:
Steps to Check and Resolve Unposted Rental Transactions
-
Access the Rental Transactions Module
Navigate to the Rental Workbench in IFS Applications. -
Identify Pending Invoices
Locate any rental invoices created by the plant department that are still in a preliminary or unposted status. -
Verify the Status of Each Transaction
Cross-check the transactions to ensure they are valid and ready for posting. Incomplete or incorrect transactions should be corrected before proceeding. -
Post the Invoices
After verification, print the pending rental invoices to finalize the transactions. -
Reattempt Project Completion
With the invoices now posted, proceed with the project completion process. The system should allow completion without generating unfinished activity work or error messages.
However, before the project can be fully completed, the customer invoices must be processed by the Accounts Payable (AP) department. Completion is only possible once the supplier invoice has been matched and authorized to the customer invoice, and the General Ledger (GL) has been updated.
By following these steps, rental transactions can be invoiced and posted correctly, allowing for a smooth project completion. For further troubleshooting, consult the manual or contact the plant department for clarification on outstanding transactions.
This approach helps to avoid delays caused by incomplete rental transactions, ensuring timely project completion.
